About me:

There’s something to be said for being willing to say “yes”! I came into 100X in April 2020 in the 4:14 Challenge, amazed as I watched this guy named Pedro pour out his knowledge to the hundreds of people watching each session. I was fascinated! He spoke with such freedom about money, business, and God, and how they all intertwined. And for the first time in 10 years, I felt hope!

You see, I had a successful Higher Education career as a young adult: I was a Christian university administrator in my 20s, having been rapidly promoted to Director and then Dean of Enrollment. For 13 years, God blessed the efforts of my teams and I flourished. I loved my life! And then God told me to go to Graduate school, where I lost my best friend & soulmate to cancer, and the recession of 2008 meant I couldn’t get a job in my field. So, I came home to my parent’s chosen small town in British Columbia, discovered my parents needed me, and I became their in-home Caregiver.

10 years later, I was still living with my parents, working entry-level part-time jobs, and was convinced that God would leave me in my wilderness indefinitely. BUT HE’S FAITHFUL! 100X came along, and I slowly discovered my voice as I walked through heart healing, immersed myself in the material, and started to connect with Kingdom people!

I’ve said “yes” to Kingdom, and to the mission of 100X. You are my family, my people, the ones I learn from every day. I am honored to be counted among you, to serve you, and to walk alongside you as God uses us to reach our Who, and bring the Kingdom to those with whom we interact.

As for my Who, I’m on a mission to build an army of Caregivers solving problems for other Caregivers. My focus is specifically on those Caregivers whose parent has now moved into a care home, and who lose sleep at night because they’re trying to figure out what life looks like now that someone else cares full-time for Mom.

favorite bible passage: Hebrews 12: 1-2

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (NIV)

As a Caregiver to elderly parents, I spent a lot of time talking about Heaven with them. We spoke of those we love who’ve gone before, what they might be experiencing, and just how they’re cheering us on and declaring over us from Heaven. Now, having lost my Dad and walking my Mom through the grief of that loss, the idea of him being among the great cloud of witnesses is even more precious. And I love that he has seen the One who loves him best, face to face.

That’s just one aspect of these verses that I love; there’s a wealth of richness here!

Favorite Pedro quote: There’s an oak tree inside every acorn.

I love the idea of potential that an acorn represents. It has everything inside that it needs to start the growth process, it is designed to miraculously change structure and strengthen, and then it flourishes by becoming a tree that multiplies by producing more acorns. The truth that one small acorn can ultimately produce a forest speaks to the multiplication available in the Kingdom.
