I worked in the corporate world for 24 years performing thermal and radiation testing and analysis on satellite systems and then serving as Executive Director managing over $450M of satellite programs.
The focus of my radiation based research was single event upset impacts on logic devices and satellite systems. I pioneered SEU impacts on logic devices and developed several hardening approaches. Served as the Director/Instructor of the Nanoscience Technician program at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount MN from 2004 to 2018 and created the 72-credit nanoscience technician multi-disciplinary program in 2003. This program began with National Science Foundation funding. She is a nanotechnology book co-author, author of two textbooks has written over 12 book chapters, presented more than 250 presentations and tens of educator workshops. I am currently serving as CEO of Newberry Technology Associates (NTA), a company that provides expertise in radiation effects on space systems, emerging technologies, strategic planning, technology evolution and product development. Deb created The Compass Process ™ which she is currently marketing to US Space market satellite companies.
Favorite Scripture:
Psalms 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will act.” This verse has been my favorite for decades. I wear a ring that has this verse in Hebrew and it serves as a reminder that I must daily commit my heart, mind and will to the Creator of the Universe --- the One who was before time began. Trust is also a major factor of this verse – trusting that He will watch each step I take – but also the trust/knowledge that he created everything that is to be found in my path. The third part of the verse is a statement that He is ever faithful and does not change. As a watchman, warrior, intercessor – it is important to me to remember that God responds to the prayers of His people.

I do not have a specific Pedro quote – but one facet of His philosophy which always comes out during the wisdom challenge every January is the aspect of not only desiring wisdom but to acknowledge where that wisdom comes from --- and the power and authority that is a part of us because Jesus is in us and God is with us.
God…asks…Deb.. Who can you become in Me (with Me in you)? What are you capable of in the Kingdom when I AM with you?
Toward the end of the 2021 Wisdom Challenge…the thought… God is asking, “Who can you become in me (with Me in you)? --- “What are you capable of in the Kingdom when I AM with you?” This thought or phrase or concept came out as Pedro was talking with his guest for that day of the challenge. I quickly found a picture of Mount Everest and wrote those words over that picture. It is in front of me every day. Bringing that concept to light and the strength it implies has meant more to me than any of the “writer downers” I have heard since that time.
